Drinking at the West

The West Riding has 8 real ale hand pumps, with beers from micro-breweries that change on a daily basis. You will always find Black Sheep and Timothy Taylors beers on the bar, as well as ale from Dewsbury's very own brewery, Anglo Dutch.

In 2006 we served 385 different beers, from 66 different breweries (not including beer festivals).

Timothy Taylor’s Landlord (4.3%) A classic Strong Pale Ale.  £2.40 per pint

Timothy Taylor’s  Dark Mild (3.5%) A rich, creamy Dark Mild.  £1.90 per pint

Blacksheep Best Bitter (3.8%) A well hopped, light golden best bitter with a distinctive, dry, refreshing taste £2.20 per pint

Blacksheep Riggwelter (5.9%) A strong deep chestnut brown beer with a rich near-white head and the aroma of freshly coffee.  £2.40 per pint

Amstel  (4.1%) A quality Dutch larger. Clean tasting, mildly bitter with cheerful character.  £2.40 p/p

Bitburger  (4.8%) A classic Pilsner, delicately tart and pleasantly bitter - with a strong hop taste £2.70 p/p

Heineken (5.0%) A smooth, full-bodied beer with a nutty character £2.70

Marston’s Oyster Stout  (4.5%) A rich, dark and extremely creamy smooth stout with good character and strength.  £2.60 p/p
