Our pub is situated in the original waiting room on Platform 2 in Dewsbury train station. We have won many CAMRA awards, including the 2010 CAMRA regional district pub of the year, and have been in the Good Beer Guide for 15 years.
Our passion is real cask ale from micro-breweries, that is where we started in 1994 and that is what we still do best. We want to serve you the best beer in the best condition, every time, that is why we are so committed to our Real Ale Pledge. We also sell a selection of world beers , 2 scrumpy ciders, and a selection of red, white and rose wines.
To go with your drink, we serve varied food throughout the week, from Mexican, to real home made pies. Please see our pub food menu for more details.
Sponsored by the Black Sheep Brewery, and hosted on our outdoor stage we are proud to present our Summer of Music. For our band line-up, take a look at our band schedule.
The bar motto appears to be “I missed the train at Dewsbury”. This legend was on the T-shirts the bar staff were wearing. It needs little explanation. With beer as good as this in a setting as unique as this, you would have to be half crazy not to miss the train.

We also have 2 CAMRA award winning sister pubs, The Sportsman in Huddersfield – POTY 2012, and The Cricketers Arms in Horbury – POTY 2011
